Placement and skip are the two decisions that matter before rarity does.
Where a pad earns its price
Units attack on their own. A pad that sees a long stretch, or a corner where the path passes twice, gets more value from every upgrade. A pad with a brief view of the lane is decoration. Towers placed off the path do not fire.
The HUD shows the next upgrade price when you hover it. Pay that price on the unit that is already attacking before you place a second body.
Auto Skip
| Situation | Skip |
|---|---|
| First City attempt, Cameraman not maxed | Off |
| City lane holds and upgrades are paid | On |
| A wave arrives before you can spend | Off for one wave |
| New map, first corner not seen yet | Off |
| You are saving for a late placement | Off until you can afford it |
Skip is a pace toggle, not a skill badge. A public lobby can move the wave timer even when you wanted to wait. If that happens, spend the cash you have and stabilize before you turn skip back on.
Camera and the first loss
Rotate the camera until the choke and the buildable pad are both visible. If you cannot see the path, you cannot judge the pad.
After a loss, name the cause in one line: range, damage, or cash split across too many units. Then change that one thing. The beginner City video is the picture version of this page. The written steps are on the City guide.
